It never rains, but it pours, and for Tottenham, the problems have become something a deluge of late, at least before Saturday’s win over Southampton.
A disappointing start to the season, an unhappy manager and a playing squad not playing to their peak are just some of the issues to have arisen of late.
Much of the clubs issues seem to centre around transfers, with Mauricio Pochettino unhappy that Daniel Levy didn’t back him sufficiently in the transfer market and the squad in need of a rebuild.
Hiring a Director of Football to sit between Levy and Pochettino could be the answer, and it appears Spurs have identified one, at least according to claims from Italy.
Il Bianconero and Calciomercato report today that Tottenham are keen on Juventus’ Fabio Paratici.
The Italian is the man who has helped rebuild the Serie A champions over the last few years and is responsible for signings such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Mathijs de Ligt.
That is the kind of work Spurs want at their club, with Il Bianconero stating that they have long held Paratici in high esteem.
They add that no official approach has came for services, and, unfortunately for them, it seems it would be rejected outright anyway.
Both Il Bianconero and Calciomercato say Juve’s Director of Football has no interest in leaving the Italian champions, so perhaps Tottenham would be best focusing their efforts elsewhere at this point.
