Even though Marlos Moreno has never really managed to play for Manchester City, there’s always some reason for us to cover news about him here.
This time, the Colombian media reported that a legal action taken from the time of his move to the Premier League side has finally come to an end.
Manchester City bought Moreno from Atletico Nacional back in 2016, and as reported by Minuto 30, one of his former sides, Club Deportivo Leonel Álvarez, claimed they didn’t receive their legal percentage from FIFA’s solidarity mechanism.
The case went to the Player Statute’s commission in the Colombian Football Federation, and, according to Minuto 30, ruled in favour of Atletico Nacional, who won’t have to pay an extra penny.
Manchester City spent €5.5m to sign Moreno from Atletico Nacional. Since then, they’ve loaned him out to Deportivo La Coruña, Girona, Flamengo, Santos Laguna and finally Portimonense, where he’s having a season-long spell which expires in 2020.
His contract with the Premier League champions runs until 2021.
