Already linked (rather randomly) with a move away from Leeds United last season with Palermo, Kemar Roofe decided to swap Marcelo Bielsa for Vincent Kompany and transfer to Anderlecht this summer.
The Belgian side paid a pretty penny for his services (just over £5m) yet they still haven’t been able to put the Walsall-born born player in their starting line up as he arrived injured and still isn’t fit.
Walfoot look at the club’s medical situation ahead of their game against Club Brugge this weekend, and while Roofe has finally joined his teammates in training, the club aren’t prepared to put him on the pitch just yet.
They explain the striker is ‘encountering more difficulties than expected’ to recuperate from his injury, and they reckon another week of training will be needed before he’s ready to feature for Anderlecht.
During his three years at Leeds, the 26-year-old made 122 appearances, scored 33 goals and assisted teammates 14 times, enjoying his best season under Bielsa in 2018-19, as he found the back of the net 14 times in 32 Championship games.
