Earlier this week, French outlet Foot-Sur7 reported that the Southampton manager Claude Puel would be keen on reuniting with Hatem Ben Arfa.
The rumour sounded pretty obvious because the French player hasn’t been featuring for PSG, and had an incredible season under Puel at Nice, reunion could be a good idea to get his good form back.
And now it’s Sport who are claiming it, without giving credit to any other source. They say that as Ben Afra’s role is no longer important for PSG manager Unai Emery, the speculationsregarding an exit start to grow and Southampton are a likely destination.
They say that the Saints are “studying the incorporation” and keeping an eye on the player’s situation at the French side.
Ben Arfa was also a subject at Toulouse’s pre-match conference this Thursday. As they’re facing PSG tomorrow, manager Pascal Dupraz was asked about the player and showed good humour to answer: “If, and I mean if, he has a problem and he wants to come to Toulouse on loan with his whole salary taken on by Paris Saint-Germain, we’ll get him going again. Here, if he turns up to training on time, he plays.”
The former Newcastle United player won’t be facing Toulouse, Unai Emery has left him out of the squad again.
