Manchester United and William Carvalho, an eternal love affair which keeps being bounced between the Portuguese and the English media week after week.
From the most recent reports, it all started in Italy, with Gazzetta Dello Sport saying José Mourinho could make an attempt to sign the midfielder soon. Then it was covered in England, and, of course, Portuguese newspapers have their response now.
A Bola takes these English claims and add a few interesting comments this Thursday. They say that despite following the player for years, Manchester United have never submitted an official bid for him.
As always, they make sure to remember that Carvalho has a €45m release clause, and just like every other Sporting player it’s very unlikely he’d leave for much less than that.
The 24-year-old has a particular clause in his contract which says that if Sporting reject any offers which are larger than €35m, they must pay the player a €5m compensation.
