On July 16th, Het Latté Nieuws reported Sheffield United made an ‘official offer’ for Sander Berge, but the Genk player rejected the Blades as he was ‘aiming higher’ than a newly promoted side.
HLN also stated Brighton & Hove Albion have shown interest in the midfielder, who has an agreement with Genk to leave this summer, if they receive an offer of around €25m.
VG provide a short update in their transfer blog and they suggest the player’s chances of joining Graham Potter’s side on the deadline day looks slim.
That’s because Berge has been training with the Jupiler Pro League side today.
In addition to this, there is ‘very little evidence’ to suggest that Berge would be joining the Premier League side before the window closes at 5pm on Thursday.
