On Sunday The Daily Star went with a story saying: ‘EXCLUSIVE: Premier League giants all desperate to do a deal for Antoine Griezmann’
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal were all named. For the latter, the newspaper said ‘Starsport has been told that Arsenal would explore the possibility of doing the deal, too.’
It was basically the same story as the previous day but singling Arsenal out has caught more attention in Spain. It’s a caused a ripple, not yet a wave, and several of the major Spanish media outlets have touched upon the claims.
AS have added a juicy bit, saying signing Antoine Griezmann has become a ‘personal obsession’ for Arsene Wenger, who believes the player could bring the very best of times back to Arsenal.
This story is slowly evolving with little bits being added to it here and there, with seemingly no reason to do so.
Tuesday’s copy of L’Equipe covers Griezmann potentially moving soon in an article covering his rise.
L’Equipe say it’s no longer a case of if Griezmann will find a place at a top club, but rather a matter of when.
The clubs named by L’Equipe are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
