If TuttoMercatoWeb are to be believed, the Joao Cancelo’s transfer to Manchester City is on the verge of being completed.
The Italian website state the player, who was scheduled to take part in a training session with Juventus at 5.30pm local time (4.30pm in the UK), has left the Juventus sports centre early.
The reason behind this, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, is that the deal involving Danilo and money to take the Portugal international to the Etihad is ‘in the homestretch’, meaning in its final stages.
We’ll see how much City end up paying when the deal is announced, but the general belief in Italy was that €30m will come out of the Premier League champions’ pockets, with the Brazilian’s inclusion making up the rest of Cancelo’s valuation.
The right-back was a key asset under Max Allegri during the 2018-19 season, but it appears Maurizio Sarri (or Juventus themselves) had other plans in mind for the incoming campaign, and they involved the defender being far away from Turin.
