Leeds United are interested in a move for Fenerbahce striker Michael Frey before the transfer deadline, according to IHA Spor’s Fenerbahce journalist Ozan Kosar.
According to his information, Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds would like to take the Swiss striker on a loan deal from Fenerbahce and will make a move for their player ‘very soon’.
The 25-year-old target man has been linked with a move to the Championship throughout the summer as previous reports from the Turkish press claimed Middlesbrough are also interested in signing the former Zurich striker.
Fenerbahce will be expected to part ways with Frey as the Yellow Canaries have signed Vedat Muriqi and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh and it’s reported they are in the market for another striker before the transfer deadline for Turkish clubs.
Frey cost €2.5m Fenerbahce last summer when they signed him from Zurich but the player didn’t perform well in his debut season in Turkey.
The Switzerland international made 22 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions last season, managing to score just 5 goals.
Frey is under contract with at the Süper Lig club until June 2022.
