Crystal Palace continue to be pointed out as competitors for the signing of the Chilean right-back Paulo Diaz.
Earlier this week, we covered claims from the Argentine press saying the Premier League side would fight River Plate for the arrival of the 24-year-old.
With the player not willing to stay at Al Hilal, it now just seems like a matter of who’s making the best bid to land him this summer.
As Chilean outlet CDF covers the rumour today, they take a quote from River Plate’s vice-president Jorge Brito confirming that they’re in a hurry to get the signing.
“We are making every effort to close Paulo Díaz,” he told Radio Continental (via CDF).
Then the outlet writes that the Buenos Aires side are working fast to avoid a ‘last minute surprise’, since they know about Crystal Palace’s interest in the player.
Meanwhile, Goal claims that River have made an offer of only US$3.8m to land Diaz, and Al Hilal are currently evaluating it. If that’s true, then Palace should have the conditions to offer much more.
