For Jordan D’Ambrosio, what should have been a dream move to Paris Saint-Germain a year ago quickly turned into a nightmare, as he now finds himself without a club a year on.

The 19-year-old is currently keeping fit by training with his French minnows Senlis after he left Sochaux to join the Parisians, who subsequently refused to pay formation fees of €300k to secure the move.

Since then, the youngster has been handed a few trials by clubs around Europe, including newly relegated Fulham.

Speaking to RMC Sport, D’Ambrosio explained that since he left Sochaux, he has spent time both at Craven Cottage as well as Mestalla in Valencia, but, once again, the formation fees keep standing in his way.

As he puts it himself, he’s more than adequate for clubs purely on a football level, but when it comes to paying the €300k the Ligue 2 side are asking for, clubs such as Fulham are balking.

He said: “Today, Sochaux aren’t letting go of the matter, and no one is prepared to pay. I’m not giving up, though. I’m working physically and I know things will work out.”

The trial took place back in February, as we covered it at the time, but it seems the Cottagers simply weren’t excited enough to spend the required amount on the youngster.

Let’s hope he finds someone who does soon.
