On July 9th, we carried a report from AS, who explained that Tottenham Hotspur are ‘on pole’ to sign Dani Olmo from Dinamo Zagreb.
After signing Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele, Wednesday’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport claims Spurs will now go for Olmo, and he’s a ‘priority’ target for them.
The Euro U21 winner left Barcelona’s famous academy La Masia and made a switch to Dinamo Zagreb in 2014. He’s fulfilled his expectations after spending five years with the Croatian club.
Over the past few weeks, there have been reports about a possible return to the Camp Nou, but that seems unlikely. Sport states ‘it seems Tottenham will finally be the one who takes the Spanish player.’
After impressing in the Euro U21 championship, Olmo’s asking price has increased to €30m.
Tottenham are viewed well in the chase because of the way they bring young players through, and the confidence Mauricio Pochettino has shown in such options.
There’s certainly some confidence in the claims.
Atletico Madrid are keeping an eye on the situation, however, there’s a general Spanish feeling that Spurs are well placed for this one.
