Known for losing some of their youth players due to the tough competition to break into the first team, Paris Saint-Germain are trying to recruit some new talent to develop in their academy.
One of the clubs where they might have the most luck down the line is Leeds United, who are expected to be invested in by Qatari Sport Investment, the same company currently in charge of the Ligue 1 champions.
According to Soccer Link in France, Leonardo, Paris Saint-Germain’s new (old?) director of football has taken an interest in Nohan Kenneh, currently playing for the Championship side’s U18s.
Described by the website as ‘one of the biggest talents of his generation’, the Liberia born England U16 international is still too young to sign a professional contract (he’s on a scholarship deal), which is why the Ligue 1 side are circling.
Once he can, the Leeds youngster will have to make a choice of where he wants to develop, which is probably when the French club hope they can convince him.
However, it’s pointed out that Leeds do ‘have a head start’ on the competition, meaning there appears to be some confidence at Elland Road of keeping Kenneh at the club for the foreseeable future.
Still, if true, it’s definitely one to keep an eye on.
