Following claims starting in England that West Ham were after Morgan Sanson, not a lot has happened.
The French media tried their best to make it sound as exciting as possible, but that was always only going to last for so long, and we’ve now reached the point where they’re just waiting for any movement to take place.
La Provence provide an update on Marseille’s transfer window plans, explaining the club are a bit stuck until they get money for one of their assets, with the likeliest sale coming from Sanson.
The problem is the Ligue 1 side have yet to receive an offer for any of their players, with clubs just asking for information here and there, showing some interest, but that’s it.
West Ham are still mentioned in there, as are Wolverhampton (Newcastle are not), but the excitement is gone, mostly because no one knows what Sanson wants to do.
The French midfielder is reportedly taking his time to think about his future, not wanting to rush his decision, which could be the reason why nothing has happened yet.
After all, if Sanson tells his agent to put everyone on hold for a few weeks, there’s not a lot anyone can do.
This should also put to bed the ’it should be done quickly’ idea that was circulating on Wednesday.
