This week started with claims from Spain that West Ham were closing in on a deal to sign Pablo Fornals from Villarreal.
On Tuesday there were claims of an agreed deal and then Wednesday saw several major Spanish media outlets state everything was agreed and an announcement would be in the next few hours.
That hasn’t happened yet, but there’s not thought to be any problem, and now pretty much every Spanish source which would be related to this deal is reporting it as done.
El Periodico Mediterraneo, local to Villarreal, have the most detailed report.
Most Spanish reports have put the transfer fee at €27m, but this one explains a little more detail. West Ham initially offered €20m, which was knocked back, and then returned with €25m.
That was accepted and includes bonuses which could take the deal to €28m or €29m.
Everything is very advanced, and the Premier League club have reached ‘harmony’ with Fornals, who will see his wages almost doubled on a five year contract.
