Leeds United last week tried a last ditch attempt to sign Salernitana’s Massimo Coda, according to the Italian media. Leeds United were busy in this summer’s transfer window, but it seems they were keen to do some last minute business.
Solo Salerno have revealed Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino was showing an interest in Coda, and was hoping to pull off a deal with the Serie B side before last week’s deadline.
Despite no offer coming in from the Championship side it’s been claimed officials from Leeds United held meetings in Milan with the sporting director of Salernitana to thrash out a deal.
However, Leeds United interest came too late into the window, and subsequently Coda remained in Italy for the time being. It’s also been reported Serie A new boys Crotone were monitoring the situation with the forward, and things could get interesting between the two clubs when the window opens in January.
