Since returning from his loan spell at Serie B side Salernitana in 2016, Thomas Strakosha has been the first choice goalkeeper at Lazio and has made 25 starts in the league this season.
The 23-year-old’s displays have drawn attention from clubs in England as the interest in him is ‘not lacking’.
According to Calciomercato, Liverpool were looking at the Albania international last summer, but the Reds ended up signing Alisson Becker from AS Roma in the same window.
Tottenham Hotspur are another club to have set their sights on the shot stopper and it is claimed the north London club have ‘monitored’ Strakosha in recent months as they are in search for a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Calciomercato claims it is unlikely that Lazio president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare will let Strakosha leave, and he’s contracted to the Serie A club until 2022.
Lloris, 32, still has three more years left on his contract with the Premier League outfit and it doesn’t make huge sense for them to sign Strakosha in the summer, especially when there have other areas that Tottenham need to strengthen.
Tottenham have been linked repeatedly with young goalkeepers in recent years, and also took Pau Lopez on loan from Espanyol.
