Uruguayan international Martin Caceres is looking for a new club after his departure from Juventus.
The 29-year-old is a free agent and still eligible to sign for clubs. Caceres played rarely for the Serie A giants last season, but still it’s a bit surprising to see him without a club.
According to an exclusive on Italian website Calcio Mercato Web, Chelsea are interested in signing Caceres, who could be set for a reunion with Antonio Conte.
Calcio Mercato Web say their staff in London have collected this exclusive information about Chelsea’s interest in Caceres.
It’s reported Antonio Conte has asked for ‘special information’ on Caceres’ physical conditions, as he has been quite injury prone recently.
Caceres could demand a signing on fee of €2.5m-€3m, which the Italian website believe shouldn’t be a problem. The Blues signed David Luiz and Marcos Alonso towards the end of the transfer window, and it remains to be seen if they’re really keen on Caceres.
Right footed Caceres can play in central defence, and also both at right back and left back, meaning he’s going to make a good squad addition for someone.
