Barcelona have a new way of making money, reports Sport.

With ticket sales a decreasing impact on revenue and TV money in Spain not rising at the rate it once did, there needs to be other avenues. Once shirt sponsorship is sewn up on long term contracts, the avenues for other big chunks of income are limited.

The best way, Barcelona are discovering, is player sales. Last summer they sent both Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina to Everton for fees which were easily in excess of what the Catalan club’s closest media had expected before the summer.

With Digne, it’s worked for Everton whilst Barca are short on cover at left back, and with Mina it’s been more of a victory for the Blaugrana than the Toffees.

For the coming summer window, Andre Gomes will be a big chance of money making. Given how financially compliant Everton were last summer, Barcelona will be hoping for more of the same.

As well as the Portuguese midfielder, Rafinha, Ivan Rakitic, Jasper Cillessen, Malcom, and Dennis Suarez are all possible permanent exits.

This will help fund Barcelona’s incoming transfers.
