One of the many players who have seen their form improve drastically since the departure of José Mourinho, Ander Herrera is reportedly wanted by Everton.
This is what Le10 Sport are saying on Thursday, claiming the Spaniard, whose contract with the Red Devils runs out in June of this year, is an option for the Toffees in case Idrissa Gueye leaves.
However, the Manchester United midfielder, who has started five of the six games Ole Gunnar Solskjær has managed in the Premier League this season, isn’t the only one.
The French outlet maintain their previous stance that Everton are also looking at Lille’s Thiago Mendes, facing competition from Napoli in case Allan were to be sold to Paris Saint-Germain this month.
The Ligue 1 side have been rather open about the fact their Brazilian star could be sold this month if the right offer (believed to be around €30m or so) came in, but that has yet to happen.
At this stage, it’s just a bunch of ‘ifs’ as Paris Saint-Germain appear to have landed Leandro Paredes, meaning a move for Gueye (or Allan) shouldn’t be a priority for them in the short-term.
In turn, this suggests Herrera won’t move to Everton this month, much to the relief of Manchester United fans, many of whom have rekindled their love for the Spaniard over the last month or so.
