Valencia are one of the Spanish clubs linked most with Javier Hernandez and that’s been the way for some time.

This isn’t just related to West Ham, Valencia seem to have more than their fair share of striker crises and often Hernandez is thought to be at least half available.

A move hasn’t come off previously and it’s largely been because whilst there may be some interest, it’s not really enough for Los Che to make an effort.

Claims of the player having agreed personal terms are being covered in Spain, although not with a great deal of meaning, because it’s known that without agreement from the Hammers it means nothing.

Deporte Valenciano make it clear, if Hernandez is to arrive then it has to be on the terms of Valencia owner Peter Lim: ‘Has to be a loan, can’t cost a penny, wages must be affordable.’

Oh, and on top of that, any loan can’t carry a compulsory purchase option.

It doesn’t exactly sound like West Ham are about to get an offer that knocks them sideways.

Unless things change for Lim, or unless West Ham fancy being incredibly generous, this one isn’t going to happen.
