According to claim in the Italian media, Fiorentina have tabled an offer for West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang.
The Spaniard arrived from Serie A when he joined the Hammers from Sampdoria, but this season he’s struggling to get games with the Premier League club. Today the player was brought on with eight minutes remaining in the victory over Arsenal, to help see the match out.
TMW have reported Fiorentina are again considering signing the West Ham player after previously being linked with him. It’s claimed the Serie A side want to purchase the central midfielder outright, but the amount hasn’t been disclosed.
It’s also claimed West Ham are now expected to respond to the Florence club within the ‘next few hours’ and that an agreement between the two clubs is close.
With the emergence of Declan Rice, it’ll be hoped in Italy that West Ham could look to cash in on Obiang in this transfer window.
The 26 year old is contracted to the London club until June 2022, and, despite Italian optimism, there’s a good chance Manuel Pellegrini will want to keep the player until the end of the season.
