On January 8th, Tuttosport reported that Watford want to extend Roberto Pereyra’s contract and then sell him in the summer.
It was also explained that Chelsea are believed to be keen on the 28-year-old. Two days ago, the Argentine’s representative confirmed that Torino wanted his client last summer.
Italian website Calciomercato now looks into the midfielder’s situation and once again relays that the Serie A outfit are still looking at signing him after they failed to meet the Hornets demands for a transfer in the previous window.
Walter Mazzarri is the current coach at the Turin club and in his first transfer window at Vicarage Road he signed Pereyra from Juventus.
It’s claimed that Torino’s ‘biggest obstacle’ is Chelsea and that’s because Blues manager Maurizo Sarri is also interested in Pereyra.
So far, the report does not gives an update on Watford’s stance and whether they would be willing to sanction the player’s transfer this month.
