Cesc Fabregas’ move from Chelsea to AS Monaco is expected to be completed in the winter market, meaning the Blues will need to bring in a replacement for the Spaniard.
Two names that are widely mentioned are Cagliari’s Nicolò Barella and Leandro Paredes of Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Journalist Alfredo Pedulla takes a look at the situation with the 24-year-old and it’s explained the west London club have already made contact with the Russian outfit for their player.
He takes into consideration the relationship between the two clubs can ‘make the difference’ in Chelsea’s efforts to bring the Argentine to Stamford Bridge this month.
That’s the only information Pedulla mentions in regards to the South American as he does not indicate or suggest if Zenit are willing to let their player leave or if Paredes is interested in making a switch to the Premier League.
It would make sense for the English side to chase the Zenit midfielder because TMW reported that Barella has already said no to Chelsea for January transfer, even after they made a big offer of €55m.
The story is being covered in Russia but there’s no reports of contact or offers.
