The big Spain story for Leeds United so far this transfer window has been Samu Saiz edging his way out of Elland Road to sign for Getafe.
Further down the transfer food chain is Hadi Sacko. Much further.
The 24 year old is on loan at Las Palmas, but despite currently being fit his last game for the club was in October, when he got 12 minutes in a 2-2 draw against Mallorca.
Since then, nothing.
Las Palmas are looking to get rid of players they’re not using, and Sacko would clearly be one of those. La Provincia have spoken to Victor Orta and got the Leeds United side of the potential transfer.
It’s claimed Orta told La Provincia he hasn’t received any news about Sacko being sent back. The newspaper then go on to explain that Leeds would need to find a new home for the player before he could be returned, and one where he’d get many more minutes than he’s currently able to.
Leeds will likely see this as a transfer headache they don’t need this month, but given Sacko has a contract until June 2020, it’s probably worth the effort to find a fitting destination and hope for a summer fee.
