Östersund FK manager Ian Burchnall has told the Swedish media his club are interested in Crystal Palace youngster Francis Baptiste ahead of the next window.

The Swedish club are looking to bring in an attacker in January and the Crystal Palace man looks to be option for Burchnall.

Fotboll Direkt have reported on comments Burchnall made to local newspaper Östersund Posten when asked about Baptiste: “He is one of many names we are currently working on. We work hard with several different options. But it takes time.”

Baptiste came through the Crystal Palace academy but has yet to make his senior debut for the Premier League side. Last season the youngster scored 15 times for the Eagles’ U18 side, which has resulted in him stepping up to the U23s squad.

A loan move could give the 19 year old attacker much needed first team football and experience playing in a top flight league.

OFK will be looking to bring in a forward in the new year after losing star striker Saman Ghoddos to French club Amiens during the last transfer window.
