Marko Grujic, who enjoyed a very successful loan spell with Cardiff last season, to the extent where he was linked with a move to Lazio in the summer, is currently injured at Hertha BSC.
The young Liverpool midfielder, currently on a temporary deal with the Bundesliga club, has missed his side’s last six games with an ankle injury, which happened during a 4-2 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach just over a month ago.
With his team struggling to put full points on the board in his absence (one win, three draws and a loss in their last five league games), his return is widely anticipated around the club, and there’s some good news emerging on Thursday.
According to his manager, Pal Dardai, relayed by Liga Insider, the Liverpool loanee could return as early as next week, claiming he was ‘satisfied’ with how the recovery has gone.
The article explains that despite Grujic feeling he might be able to return, Hertha decided the midfielder’s return should be delayed to ensure he recovered correctly, clearly fearing an early comeback could lead to a relapse.
While Dardai seems confident, Liga Insider still aren’t sure if the 22-year-old will return before the next international break, but Liverpool fans and those at the Melwood offices will be glad to know Grujic is being well taken care of in Germany.
