If TuttoMercatoWeb on Thursday are to be believed, then West Ham are gearing up for another busy transfer window in January.
Already splashing the cash in the summer by buying players like Issa Diop, Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson, the Hammers still have some funds to throw around, and their priorities are a goalscorer and a midfielder.
We’ve already covered the striker option, as the same website claimed a meeting between Kia Joorabchian and West Ham took place regarding the potential transfer of Gabriel Barbosa, and now there’s apparently been an offer for Franck Kessié.
TuttoMercatoWeb claim Manuel Pellegrini’s side offered Milan €35m for the Ivory Coast international over the past few weeks.
That seems to have been rejected, along with one from Beijing Guoan, as the midfielder would prefer to remain in Europe if possible.
There’s also mention of interest from bigger clubs, like Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, but neither have come forward with offers.
Kessié is technically still on loan from Atalanta, with Milan owing €20m to make the move permanent, and while Gennaro Gattuso sees him as unsellable, TuttoMercatoWeb suggest that Leonardo and Paolo Maldini could be open to make a sacrifice if the offer is right.
Either way, whatever Milan receive, they’d get the amount minus the €20m, so we can expect the figure to be rather high if a sale is given the green light in the future.
