Having signed Eden Hazard and Thorgan Hazard in 2012, Chelsea sent the latter out on loan the same summer and he spent three seasons away from the Blues.
In 2015, the Belgium international left the west London club and made a permanent switch to Borussia Mönchengladbach, a year after initially joining them on a temporary deal.
Since the start of last season, the 25-year-old has been in fine form for the Bundesliga outfit and his impressive display saw Roberto Martinez include him in De Rode Duivels squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
It’s been over three years since he left the Premier League outfit and Thorgan gave an interview to Germany’s Sport1, in which he explained why he was right to leave the Blues.
“I was still too young and not ready for the big jump. Chelsea is a big club with outstanding players. For me, the decision to play for a different club was better.”
Thorgan has accepted the fact that his qualities and abilities are much different to those of brother Eden, which is why he feels it would not be possible to see both of them play for the same club.
“Honestly? It would be very difficult for me to play in a club with my brother. He is a bigger player than me. I can learn from him and still have a lot to work on,” he added.
