Lille’s Sofiane Boufal is expected to leave the Ligue 1 club in the last few days of the transfer window with Watford and Southampton interested in his services.
Yesterday, we covered claims Watford have made a €15m offer for Boufal, whilst RMC Sport in France reported late in the night that Southampton had submitted a €20m offer Moroccan international.
Several English media outlets also confirmed Southampton are close to reaching an agreement with Lille, but that might not be case.
According to L’Equipe on Thursday, Lille has concrete offers for Boufal from Southampton and Watford. It is reported Southampton have made a bid of €14m for Boufal, whilst Lille expect around €20m including bonuses.
L’Equipe say the ‘poker game’ continues with just one week left for the transfer window to close, and that Boufal might remain at the club until January should they fail to find an agreement.
It had been stated that Southampton had offered €20m, which would have been very significant. Sport Witness were made aware earlier this week, after Watford’s offer, that Lille would look far more kindly at €20m.
If Southampton’s bid is €14m then that takes everything a step back.
