If Girondins4Ever’s information about Everton’s next scouting trip is true, then the Toffees haven’t given up on Adama Soumaoro just yet.

Over the summer, Euro United claimed Marco Silva’s side were in talks over the Lille centre-back’s transfer, but Foot Mercato revealed the 26-year-old was planning on spending at least an extra year in the north of France to prove his worth.

This all followed a report from La Voix du Nord earlier this year stating that Everton had tried to sign Soumaoro in January for around €22m.

Fast forward to this week, and Girondins4Ever reveal a scout from Goodison Park will be present at Bordeaux’s game against Lille in which the defender is expected to take part.

So far this season, the club’s captain has been key to Christophe Galtier’s side, starting and finishing every single game so far, picking up just one yellow card along the way.

His form and that of his teammates has helped Lille forget all about last season’s dreadful campaign, which started under Marcelo Bielsa, as the club are currently second in the league, taking 13 points from their first six games.

There will be, of course, a lot of other talent on display, like the talented forwards Nicolas Pepe, Jonathan Bamba or Francois Kamano, but this one makes the most sense for Everton due to their history with the player.
