Claudio Bravo is not the only one flying from Barcelona to sign for Manchester City this week. According to Sport, the club have reportedly signed up Eduardo Mauri, a Catalan doctor who will now be part of Pep Guardiola’s staff.
Mauri is a former Espanyol player who graduated after his football career. He worked at the Spanish club as a doctor from 1997 to 2008, when he moved to Qatar. He stayed there until 2013, and then returned to Barcelona, directing the sport medicine sector of the Instituto Traumatológico Quirón.
Mauri is no stranger to City players. He was responsible for taking care of Vincent Kompany this year, after his groin injury against Real Madrid which ended up keeping him him out of the Euros.
Now the doctor is finally set to start a new career in the Premier League, in a place where he certainly won’t lack workmates who already lived in his hometown.
