In Jose Mourinho’s final transfer window at Chelsea, one of the players he signed was Baba Rahman, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Augsburg in 2015.
After the arrival of Antonio Conte at the club a year later, he was loaned out to Schalke and his stay in Germany was further extended until the end of the current campaign.
The Ghanaian international’s current deal with the Blues runs down in 2020 and is one of the many, many Premier League club’s players currently out on loan.
It’s his dream to make it at the west London club and despite being away since 2016, he has not given up on his chances of playing for the English outfit once again.
“You can never say where football will guide you to. Maybe I stay for the next 10 years at Schalke but I also can imagine playing for Chelsea again. But at the moment I don’t think about these things, I’m really happy at Schalke,” Rahman told German outlet Spox.com.
“As one of the best clubs in the world, Chelsea gives many players the chance to make their dreams come true and become better footballers. The club gives talented players a chance to prove themselves. At Schalke, I am now regularly in front of 60,000 spectators on the pitch, which makes me incredibly good in my development,” he explained.
Regarding the WhatsApp group, the defender said, “That’s right. The group consists of loanees and employees of the association, who take care of the boys who are currently away. There, the coaches give regular feedback and post goals or good scenes from individual players. Often we also send funny videos or memes there.”
