Liverpool will host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League clash on Tuesday and Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar in his pre-match press conference.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach also spoke to RMC Sport on the eve of the Reds’ first European fixture of the season and the Merseyside club’s boss gave his thoughts on the France international’s emergence to the top.
Mbappe left AS Monaco and moved to Parc des Princes on a loan deal in 2017 and his transfer was made permanent in the summer. He impressed for the Ligue 1 winners in his debut season and continued that form for his country as he was a key player in Les Bleus’ World Cup winning campaign.
The Premier League club’s manager is aware of the threat possessed by the 19-year-old and explains why the forward is different to other players from his age group.
“I love him, to be honest, he’s a fantastic player, a very good boy and what a player, what a player …” Klopp said about the teenager.
“I think that all European football has known him since he was 16-17 when he was playing with the young team from Monaco. He’s been playing at a very high level for his young age, and he’s showing all the time that he’s a very well educated young player and he knows what he’s doing.”
