With half the team either being sold or leaving as their loan deals come to an end, it isn’t a shock to see Marseille being linked with a lot of players in these early months of the transfer window, and they could look to the Premier League for some bargains.
One of the near certainties to depart is main striker Michy Batshuayi, meaning the Ligue 1 side will need to find a new outlet up front, and a Chelsea player could be on their wish list.
Already playing in the south of France with Marseille, where QPR bought him from, Loïc Rémy is, according to La Gazette des Transferts, one of their options to replace the Belgian star.
With a new striker probably on his way to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea might just be willing to let him go on the cheap, but the player will definitely need to take a wage cut if he is to return to France.
Considering his relatively decent track record at finding the back of the net in England, the likeliest of options will be a Premier League stay, or if he does go to France, a loan is probably more realistic.
