Only playing 10 minutes of Premier League football for Leicester so far this season, Vicente Iborra doesn’t appear to be at the forefront of Claude Puel’s plans for the current campaign.

The 30-year-old did, however, play the full 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup midweek, scoring in the 4-0 win over Fleetwood Town at King Power Stadium.

Needing regular first-team football, the defensive midfielder could be rescued by Villarreal, according to El Periodico Mediterraneo in Spain, who are interested in acquiring his services on loan to add some muscle to their midfield.

On top of his physical attributes, the La Liga side see his Spanish football experience as ideal, but would only want him for the current season.

Unfortunately, that isn’t something the Foxes are particularly interested in, as El Periodico Mediterraneo explain they only want to see him leave permanently if he is to exit the club this summer.

Bought last year for £13.5m from Sevilla, Iborra has made 28 appearances for Leicester, scoring four goals and picking up two assists.
