Manchester United have reportedly authorised goalkeeper Sergio Romero to join the Argentine national team for the next few matches.
It’s TyC who reports it, saying that manager Lionel Scaloni has received the good news this Thursday.
Romero should now join the squad for Argentina’s matches against Guatemala and Colombia, which will be played in early September.
It’s claimed that ‘Chiquito’ told the national team that he’s doing all he can to be recovered in time, and it’s Manchester United who are allowing him to work with the national team.
As the goalkeeper didn’t play a single minute for Man United during the pre-season and wasn’t even on the bench for the match against Leicester, the local media had doubts if he would be available to play for Argentina soon.
Romero’s return to the national team should be pretty symbolic for him, as he missed the World Cup due to this knee injury, which was picked up in June.
