Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan is edging closer towards completing a move to Cagliari, if the reports in Italy are to be believed.
According to Sky Italia, the two clubs have found an agreement for the Estonian international and the Serie A outfit will pay €2m to secure the services of centre-back. The 32-year-old has also agreed terms with Rolando Maran’s side.
The former Augsburg man will travel to Italy to undergo his medical tests once the last details are checked and he is set to sign a two year deal with the Cagliari, with an option to further extend it by a year.
The report claims the central defender’s move to the Sardegna Arena is ‘at the finish line’.
Klavan had fallen down the Liverpool pecking order after the arrival of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in January and is behind the Dutchman, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Joe Gomes in the centre-back position. A move to Cagliari will be best suited for all parties involved.
