Norwegian newspaper Varden have revealed the details of John Kitolano’s transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It’s claimed Wolves got an agreement with the Norway club yesterday before the deal was officially announced earlier today.

According to Varden, the 19 year old has signed for Wolves for a transfer fee between 4m to 4.5m Norwegian Krone (£376k to £423k). The Norway media outlet says this is a good deal for Odd as the defender had just six months left on his contract with the club.

But it’s around half of the £900k that was reported earlier this week.

There are also suggestions Wolves may pay Odd further payments depending on how many games Kitolano plays for them, but it’s not known.

However, there are no reports if Odd have negotiated a sell on clause for a future transfer of the young defender.

Former Wolves defender Gunnar Halle has backed Kitolano’s move to Molineux and he’s confident the player has a chance to succeed in England.

Halle has in recent years been a coach for Norway’s youth teams, and is quoted as saying: “I had John for three years. In the G15-16 and 17 national teams. He’s taken great strides in recent years and it’s exciting to see what he can do in Wolverhampton. If everything is ok with that.

“He faces a big challenge. Going from playing in Eliteserien to playing in the Premier League is a big leap. He may not go straight into the team, and it may take time to get the chance.”
