Even though Bernard seems pretty close to joining AC Milan, Chelsea still have a chance to sign him, according to the Brazilian press today.
Outlet Fox Sports claims that interest from the Blues and Inter Milan are reasons the player hasn’t shaken hands with the Rossoneri yet.
Chelsea are said to have two attractive points: the City of London, which Bernard likes a lot, and Maurizio Sarri, who’s a fan of the player since his time in charge of Napoli.
So while the winger’s agent is in Milan negotiating with club director Leonardo, Bernard still thinks of these other offers.
Brazilian side Palmeiras have also made an approach, but due to the player’s wish to stay in Europe, the club from São Paulo have no chance in the race.
Fox Sports claims that his decision is expected to be made before August 8th. As Bernard’s contract with Shakhtar Donetsk expired this summer, he’s free to join any club.
