It seems that Liverpool have only been working on an agreement with Roma so they could announce the signing of Alisson. Because according to the Brazilian media today, there has been a deal between the Reds and the goalkeeper for a long time.
Website UOL reports that Alisson played the World Cup for Brazil with all the personal terms agreed with the Anfield Road side.
The player was reportedly just waiting for Liverpool and Roma to reach an agreement so he could finally travel and sign for the Reds.
UOL claims that Alisson signed a contract with the exact same turms that were agreed over a month ago, and that’s why things moved so quickly once the clubs found a fee.
Outlet Globo Esporte also brings a similar story today, saying the talks started in November last year.
They claim Jurgen Klopp was crucial for the transfer, as he spoke to Alisson before making an official bid. The Reds only made the move once they got the green light from the player.
