Despite the transfer rumours surrounding Bruno Varela, the player is reportedly completely focused on his work at Benfica.
Newspaper A Bola writes a story today to say that the goalkeeper has been training normally, and keeps working hard to stay as the club’s number one for the next season.
Varela has been much linked to Nottingham Forest, with recent claims that the Championship side have him as a ‘priority’ for the summer window, having intensified negotiations with the Eagles lately.
Now A Bola claims that the negotiations should have a new chapter, because Varela’s agent Jorge Mendes has finally concluded Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus, and seems free to work for his other clients.
It’s made clear by the newspaper that Varela won’t leave so easily. He’s considered to be an important player for Benfica’s squad, and has a contract running until 2022, so Nottingham Forest must make a decent bid to take him.
Maybe this is reverse psychology.
