West Bromwich Albion endured a difficult campaign during the 2017/18 season, and there were mini-stories in all of that.
Nacer Chadli missed 18 games between November 2017 and February 2018 due to two different injuries. He started in only two league fixtures for West Brom, but that didn’t stop him from making to Belgium’s squad for the 2018 World Cup.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man has been important for Belgium, scoring the winner in their 3-2 victory over Japan. He has four appearances to his name at the ongoing tournament in Russia.
According to France Football, Chadli’s form for Belgium has seen him attract interest from ‘many clubs’. One of them is Ligue 1 outfit Lyon and they are keen on the 28-year-old’s profile, who can play in more than one position.
Chadli has two years left on his contract at the Hawthorns and if he continues with West Brom, he will have to play in the Championship.
The report doesn’t mention if Lyon have contacted the player’s agent or the English club to negotiate a deal. It only suggests the French side are one of the clubs ‘interested’ in Chadli.
