Speaking to Sky Sports today ahead of Leeds United’s clash with Fulham tonight, Holloway was asked about Monk’s chances with the Championship Side. The former QPR manager said sometimes this is the price you pay for joining a club which doesn’t have a chairman who is patient.
Holloway expects Monk to turn things around, but believes it won’t be easy because of the environment he’s having to manage in.
“It’s the price you pay when you have a chairman who has a history of having no patience. Garry Monk will get the team playing his way. It’s not easy with it being at a volatile club,” said Holloway.
Despite bringing in eight new players in this transfer window, Leeds United have struggled in their first two games of the new season. They suffered a heavy defeat to QPR on the opening day of the campaign followed by a 2-1 loss to Birmingham City at the weekend.
