There are reports in the Italian media that Carpi are looking for a solution on selling Jerry Mbakogu to Leeds United.
The Serie B forward has been linked with Leeds United in recent months, with claims going back to January of an outline agreement on a transfer.
Gazzetta dello Modena report, via TMW, that Carpi still want to sell Mbakogu to Leeds United and would like a deal done as soon as possible. It’s reported Leeds United’s interest in the 23 year old has been hit by the player’s injury problems towards the end of last season.
As other Italian outlets have reported this week, Leeds are said to be looking for a discount on what Carpi are expecting.
Carpi are now hoping to ‘unblock’ the move and there’s said to be a feeling that can happen, but as it stands it seems his move to England has stalled.
Earlier on Friday, we covered claims from Modena, where are Carpi are based, that it’s actually Marcelo Bielsa holding up the deal. The new Leeds United manager isn’t convinced Mbakogu is the man for him.
