According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, West Ham United have identified Sevilla attacking midfielder Joaquín Correa as a target for the summer transfer window.
The Argentine managed just 15 starts in the league last season. However, he featured regularly in the Champions League and in the Copa del Rey, scoring six goals and registering two assists in 14 appearances in these two competitions.
Tutto Mercato Web claims there has been contact between the Premier League outfit and agent Alessandro Lucci.
Juan Bautista Alberdi-born Correa is one of the “hottest names” wanted by the English capital club in the transfer market.
Any approach from West Ham in signing the Sevilla midfielder would see them face competition from Italian clubs, but the report does’t reveal the name of the Serie A sides interested in signing the former Sampdoria man.
West Ham appointed Manuel Pellegrini as the successor to David Moyes this summer, and the Hammers want to provide the former Manchester City manager with a strong squad to enjoy a good campaign in the 2018/19 season.
