Southampton attacking midfielder Dusan Tadic has been linked with a move away from St Mary’s Stadium repeatedly this summer and there are several clubs interested in signing him.
Over the past two months, the Serbian international has been linked with moves to Ajax, AC Milan and Leicester City. CalcioMercato earlier reported the Foxes had identified Tadic as a target to replace Riyad Mahrez, who is expected to join Manchester City.
Earlier this month, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf once again talked about Ajax’s interest in signing the Southampton player. They mentioned the Eredivisie side are willing to allow Hakim Ziyech to leave this summer and want sign Tadic as his replacement.
Today, Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim Ajax are “pressing for” Tadic and “contacts are in progress”. The Dutch club are pushing to “reach an agreement”, but the report doesn’t mention if it is with the player or the Premier League side.
Tadic still has two years left on his contract with the Saints. TMW’s report also doesn’t have any mention any of the contract information or the fee that Ajax would be willing to pay Southampton to secure the player’s services.
The 29-year-old already has the experience of playing in the Dutch league, having spent two seasons each at Groningen and FC Twente prior to his move to Southampton in 2014.
