Earlier this week, we covered a claim from Italy that 777 Partners were close to buying Everton from Farhad Moshiri.

The holding company own the likes of Genoa and have a majority stake in Brazilian side Vasco da Gama, and it was claimed they had substantially surpassed MSP Sports Capital in their efforts to acquire the Toffees.

That might sound all well and good for Everton, but something reported by Tuttosport on Thursday caught our eye, relayed by I Love Palermo Calcio.

That’s because the sporting director of 777 Football Group, a man named Johannes Spors, is the one ‘of the last decisions’ when it comes to transfers, and he has his plate full.

On top of the aforementioned Genoa and Vasco da Gama, he has another four teams to deal with, with those being Standard Liège in Belgium, Red Star in France, Melbourne Victory in Australia and Hertha Berlin in Germany.

This means that if 777 were to buy Everton, he would have even more to deal with.

That’s why he ‘needs to be able to delegate the task of closing operations and completing squads’ to some trusted elements, leading to more likely changes at Goodison Park should they take over, which is the last thing the club needs right now.

Just something for Everton fans to think about amid all the excitement of a potential buy-out, even if we know the attention is currently firmly on the Premier League table and whether or not the club will be in England’s first-tier next year.
