Sasa Kalajdzic’s loan move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Eintracht Frankfurt will not include a purchase option, as the two clubs couldn’t agree on one.
That’s according to journalist Philipp Hinze, who reports that the German side were unable to secure an agreement with Wolves on the matter.
Kalajdzic has been linked with a move to Frankfurt over the last week or so, with several reports in Germany indicating that the German side were pushing to get a deal over the line.
His agent confirmed yesterday that a move was imminent, with it later explained the Austrian striker was sitting on his packed suitcases waiting to be given the green light to move.
The sticking point seemed to be the potential of a purchase clause being added into the loan deal for him, with the two sides negotiating over that.
Hinze now reports that there has been a ‘final decision’ on that front, explaining that Frankfurt have been unable to secure such a clause.
They ‘negotiated emphatically’ with Wolves over the matter but Gary O’Neil’s side repeatedly rejected a realistic purchase option for the striker.
Final discussions between the two sides took place on the matter yesterday and Kalajdzic will now make the move on a ‘pure loan’ and nothing else, leaving ‘everything possible in the summer’.
Either way, with that now out of the way, Kalajdzic appears to be free to make the move to Germany for the remainder of the season to start with.
