Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has shared his delight at how his loan spell with PSV Eindhoven is going.

The youngster left Everton in the summer, reuniting with Marcel Brands, the man who signed him for the Toffees, at PSV for a season-long loan deal.

He departed Goodison Park in search of regular first-team football, which was not on offer under Frank Lampard following the signings of James Tarkowski and Conor Coady.

He’s been a regular for the Dutch side since then, making eight appearances in all competitions so far and racking up 400 minutes of action.

That means he’s already close to reaching the 12 appearances and 821 minutes he managed for Everton last season, when he was largely just a squad player.

He’ll be hoping for more regular playing time moving forwards, but it seems for now he is happy with how things are going, and the chance to work under an iconic former player like Ruud van Nistelrooy.

“I am fit, and I feel good again after a slight injury,” PSV Fans report him saying.

“I’m enjoying myself anyway at PSV and in the Netherlands. I am enjoying it. Everyone is nice and warm, that helps me well.

“I’m developing, I get the chance to play and that’s why I came to PSV. For me it’s fantastic that I get to play under Ruud van Nistelrooy. He was of course a top player and PSV is a big club in football.”
